Opening Event

With the International Conference on Quantum Optics and Quantum Information we are celebrating 20 years of the IQOQI Innsbruck. Research in quantum physics in Innsbruck started as early as in the 90's and was further strengthened by the founding of the Institute of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in 2004. The institute has a long tradition of a close collaboration with the University of Innsbruck, which has proven to be exceptionally fruitful and successful in many different aspects.

The IQOQI Innsbruck 20 year celebrations will be inaugurated by an opening event in the Aula of the University of Innsbruck and we are very pleased to welcome distinguished guests from science, politics and business.

Statement of Inclusiveness

We refuse to compromise the ideals of academic freedom and open exchange. We affirm that scientific events have to be open to everybody, regardless of class, financial situation, race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, pregnancy, immigration status or any other aspect of identity. We believe that such events have to be supportive, inclusive, and safe environments for all participants. We believe that all participants are to be treated with dignity and respect. Discrimination and harassment cannot be tolerated.
Original version of the statement of inclusiveness

We are therefore committed to ensuring that the International Conference on Quantum Optics and Quantum Information 2024 follow these principles. Furthermore, we are committed to this principles at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information Innsbruck as well: We are very happy that since autumn of last year our gender officer Angélique Sanchez has been supporting us in this endeavour. While right now still focusing on gender equity in a field of science, where women are to this day largely underrepresented, we still keep the broader picture in mind.
